Why dose Kate always just do jumps and gymnastics when she's fighting? (Like when she was fighting the bears. She didn't even bite them...I think)

It's a kid movie... That's your answer? Doesn't make much sense since there was lots of biting going on in Alpha And Omega and Alpha And Omega 2.
