What about the House Of Night Series. Its slow at the start but brilliant once you get into it.

I'm not sure what genre you are looking for but this is in the vampire genre but its still great. not suitable for younger readers though.

hope i helped :)

The true blood or Sookie Stackhouse series were not very good in my opinion. A lot of people like them but I thought they were a little boring. They are definatly not for 13 year olds or younger though. Lots of sex and things like that throught the book.

italiangirl976 i agree, i found the books boring, i couldn't finish the first one. i am a fast reader - like finishing a book in an evening- but those books dragged in my opinion. TV series is excellent though!

my all time favorite series is The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel. The books that are currently out go like this: The Alchemyst, The Magician, The Sorceress, and The Necromancer, which came out yesterday. There about these fifteen year old twins, Josh and Sophie, who find out that magic and legends are real and that they're supposed to save the world and the entire human race. i love these books, and so do my friends. They are by Michael scott.

house of night series by pc cast are good. its about this girl who gets cahnged into a vampyre and finds out shes really powerful. though it's not typical vampyres either. i usually dont even notice!

the books of pellinor series by alison croggon are also good. there about this girl who's a slave but gets rescued by a powerful bard.

The warrior heir series by cinda williams china, the stravaganza series by mary hoffman, fablehaven (tho theyre a bit young, they're really good), the Faerie chronicles by O.R. mellings, and the eragon series are some of my favorites
