Does this ring any bells?

A girl's horse gives birth to a pure white foal with blue eyes. Soon, the girl gets the sense that the foal is trying to mentally speak with her (she is able to get the foal to wear a bridle just by communiting it, when it didn't work for her dad). In time, it's reveled by the girl's neibghor that the foal is half unicorn.
