I read a book and can't remember the name!!!

So I read a book on holiday a year or two ago and I was hoping to find it and read it again. I can't remember much but I do remember it was from a young teenage girls pov, and she went to stay in a hotel with her parents (her dad owned some sort of household item company and used to be in the army) where she met a young man. This young man gives her a gold bracelet which she later finds out is from a collection of jewelry and other such items take from Jews. I think if I remember correctly there was a storm and she got separated from her parents and her mum was a drunk or something along those lines. I know it's not the best description but anything anyone could give would be useful. Either that or I dreamt the whole thing!!!
