Why do people act like kittens are better/more important/interesting than cats?

I;M SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS QUESTION TO ANSWER! FIRST LET ME SAY THAT I GOT A 2 MONTH KITTEN ACOUPLE YEARS AGO AND I LOCVE HER TO DEATH! BUT IF I EVER GO BACK TO SEE THE CATS AGAIN I WILL GET A ADULT CAT. THEY HAVE SO MANY AND ALOT OF THEM ARE VERY SWEET CAYS TOO! NOW YOU MENTIONED PEOPLE WHO DON'T WANT THEIR CATS ONCE THEY'VE GROWN UP!THE FAMILY NEAR ME HAD A BEAUITFUL MALE TABBY NAMED MANDY! THEY REALLY LOVED THAT CAT TIL THEY GOT A SMALL BLACK KITTEN! EVERYTIME MANDY GOES NEAR THE HOUSE THEY THROW STONES AT HIM! THEIR ALL WRAPPED UP WITH THE NEW LITTLE ONE. I DON'T SEE HOW ANYBODY CAN BE THAT CRUEL!! I HAVE A INDOOR FEMALE CAT, SHE'S ABOUT 5 YEARS OLD. I LET MANDY IN MY HOUSE AND HE MAKES HIMSELF AT HOME! HE GETS ALONG FINE WITH MY CAT. THEY EVEN SLEEP ON THE SAME SOFA SIDE BY SIDE! BET MANDY NEVER THOUGHT HE'D FIND A NEW HOME WITH SOMEONE THAT LOVES HIM AS MUCH AS I DO MY OWN! AND I'M RIGHT NEXT DOOR!

Nah, I think that generally, people are more interested in kittens when they're not their own. If it's their cat, and they've had it since it was a kitten, they usually have that special bond with it, a much stronger one than when it was young. But of course, if it was just some random cat/kitten, most people would choose the kitten because A. Obviously it's adorable and fun to hold because it's so small. And B. It's younger, hence, it'll live longer.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I adopted my cat when he was 3 so...

I got my cat, Sock's, when he was 6 weeks old and I've gave him attention the whole time I've had him. He's only 8 months old, but still. He's big enough to be a full grown cat. I still go searching for him so we can play or cuddle :) People should always pay attention to their cat! Even if their not "little" anymore.
