Fandom is not winning. Fandom is believing. The Yankees and Cardinals have no real fandom. They have no hope, only expectance. They are sure they're going to win every year, so there is no hope, joy or surprise. We as Cubs fans know shame and hope. We know how to be fans. People want to win with hope, not be bored with winning. In short, winning is not the answer, hope is the answer
