I have a question about Beyond Birthday.

ah yes beyond birthdays shinigami eyes have interested me a great deal, i don't think a shinigami can drop there eye balls because some of them don't even have eyes and what i think is that a shinigami granted his mother the shinigami eyes and it was passed onto him when he was born, thats what i think anyway

i've never even heard that theory...was it in one of the movies? i haven't gotten to see them yet. well, Chari (Kira in the Death Note RPG) was born with shinigami eyes and i've been wondering how. teachnicly, if they were dropped, he wasn't born with them...

actually, that is a very big plot hole in the L.A.B.B. case. If Beyond got it congenitally, (or a shinigami dropped and it landed perfectly on his eyes), he should have the curiosity of why is he seeing other people's name. As a child, it is very natural that you ask someone older about that. And how did Mello came to know that (or L, he's the one who told mello about it). I'm sorry if I'm no help.

That is only Mello's theory, and we all know Mello, he sticks to the first thing that comes to mind. There are many possibilities, a shinigami and a human could have mated, or his mother made the exchange and it passed on, or she had made a deal with a shinigami that her child would be born with them. these are all possible. when I tried to tell Mello how obsurd his theory was, he flicked me off. It is not specified how he was born with them, but I think the first theory mentioned in this answer is correct.

Well, I hear rumours and a lot of stuff lately for a long time, and to my conclusion I thought that BB's father was a shinigami and the shinigami eyes was naturally born to him at birth.
