Yeah I always sorta had that feeling, and you can kinda tell by how he acts and stuff. It's kinda weird but dumbledore is still awesome!!!!!!!!! :)

When someone told me about that I was in shock. But now I realise that He acted like that and always when he talked about Grindelwald.. mm..yeah. He loved him.

yeah, but i think it's sort of pointless... imo, it would be better if the author would not answer every single question and offered the readers the opportunity to speculate and have their own opinions about the things that are not really clear in the books. not that i have any problems with the idea itself (i thought he was gay ever since the story with Grindewald:D, so this doesn't really matter to me) but, i mean, he's a character and not a real person, you know, and one thing we all love about books is that sometimes you get to use your own imagination and have your own ideas about a certain story...

I think its dumb too. Why announce it after the books are over? Publicity maybe? Hmmmm.....

^^ I dont think its a problem, doesnt change the story in any way :) And it kind of helps you understand the relationship between Dumbledore and Grindelwald a bit better ^_^

In the first book it says he was partners with Grindewald..like "Partners" yeah i didnt understand that till i read the series for the second time..xD

Everyone who is upset that Dumbledore is gay is so close minded. It sickens me. He's still the same person we grew to love in the books.

I agree with LifesGoodx3. It's not like JK "spilling the beans" changed the series. It didn't add to the plot, or take away from the plot. it doesn't change anything about him, and she didn't gain or lose anything by "outing" him. She was asked a question AFTER THE SERIES ENDED about why he never married and she gave the honest answer. She developed these characters long before she published the books, so she already knew the answer. Besides, it made sense, if you'd actually paid attention.

When I found it out, I cheered. FINALLY a gay person who isn't focused on just because of that, and is actually treated like a human being.

J.K.R even said herself that he was. The Harry Potter stars were shocked at first, but they still love Dumbledore (it would be rude to dislike him for being gay anyway).

I already knew that Dumbledore was gay, but I didn't know who w/. I'm actually happy that Jo Rowling made Dumbledore gay because some people consider gays weird people, and this would be something that would stand out. I knew that Dumbledore was gay because my older sister told me that. It didn't say in the books, I think.

I like it.

When I first read this, I was slightly surprised and first then thought "now that makes sense". It explains why there was no mention of a wife or any children/descendants at his funeral, despite him being the champion of all kinds of love, and it also adds another dimension to his relationship with Grindelwald and why he'd been so blinded to his friend's true nature. I generally just like that she chose to make such a role model of a character be gay.
