England Question

Possibly moving to Maidenhead... currently live in US (Wisconsin)?

So my mom's boss asked her what she thought about moving to Maidenhead for a year for work (sadly it will only be for a year if she says yea :( ) Anyway, my mom will be thinking about it and will have a talk with her boss on Tuesday. Now I am 115% positive that I want to move. I REALLY want to move to London as an adult and i think moving now will really be able to help me figure out if in the long run if that's what i really want and it would be a great experience for me (and yes my mom).
But first, i have a few questions:

1. Is Maidenhead near London? If so how far away?
2. What are schools over there like? What do they teach to 7th and 8th graders?
3. What are some things that Maidenhead has to offer (such as sight seeing stores ect...)
4. Can some one please find me a website(s) that has information about Maidenhead and the surrounding area?

Thanks a bunch!!

1. Maidenhead is just outside of London, it's on the map I've put at the bottom of here in relation to London.
2. Schools over here are great. Well, as great as school can be. We don't have 'Grades' we have years, and I think your 7th and 8th Grade is our Year 8 and 9, so you'll be taught about Shakespeare, Gothic stories, normal Maths stuff and Rocks and weathering to name a few. I can't really remember much of what I did in Year 8. I'm in Year 9 now and can't remember what I did at the start of the year. Which is encouraging.
3. I don't live in Maidenhead, so I can't tell you much about it.
