Well I am not saying this is set in stone but I will make a assessment on this. I think this will either hit or miss and here is why. I don't think SM likes to be predictable and they like to show off this "facade" that their idols are actually talented. Why wasn't Jessica part of TaetiSeo, because then you have all the main singer, that is to typical so if you replace Jessica with Seohyun you get a much more interesting group.

This group may (hopefully) have a mature and sexy image (The Dark Side of The Moon title). now here we have a nice singer and two great dancers.

Pros:
Sunny can sing low notes (can but not the best) so she can stay on par with Yuri and Yoona's low tone voice better then the alternatives Jessica and Sooyoung. All of them were on a Dance Battle at least once.

Cons:Yuri and Yoona can't sing all that well and Sunny can't dance all that well if we compare them to each others, so I have no idea how that is going to pan out.

I am thinking they are going to have a strong song (emotion wise) while incorporating dance into it.

I don't think Sooyoung would do any good here because she is too predictable and she is starting a drama, Hyoyeon is busy with Dancing With the Stars, and Jessica can't sing low notes all that well so this group makes more sense.

Sunny just stopped with invisible youth claim "she needs to focus on her SNSD work", Yuri finished her drama, and Yoona finished hers, so all of them have some time to try and make a worthy album

i think it's ok, but i would prefer to see Yuri with Hyoyeon and Sooyoung. that would be such an amazing unit. maybe with a rock or baddass concept and awesome choreography. oh, i can totally see it

@tiagih as much as i disagree with Myuki about YoonYulSic, i think it's gonna happen. SM only cares about money , they know that Yoona, Jessica and Yuri are the most popular SNSD members(excluding Taeyeon). but it's also a bad strategy, cause then, he leaves the least popular ones, Soo, Hyo and Sun. and that's not fair. AT ALL. it's obvious that if SooHyoSun happens, they will sell the least. and SM can't be THIS STUPID

Sunny, Jessica and Yoona- with Sica and Yoon being the most popular
Yuri, Sooyoung and Hyoyeon- with Yuri being BY FAR the most popular, but Sooyoung's popularity has been increasing

if you notice, in TaeTiSeo, we also had two popular members: Taeyeon and Tiffany.

Well.. we'll just see what will happen but if it's true.. we'll still gonna support them, right???... ^___^

@PA92, the one thing SM hates is being predictable that is why JesYulYoo most likely won't happen, its the same reason why Seohyun was in TaeTiSeo and not Jessica, it would be too predictable.

Sooyoung and Hyoyeon have the heart of international fans as well as being great dancers but dancing won't sell albums so they would need a good vocalist to help and we know that Yuri and Yoona can't sing all that well.

If you look at TaetiSeo, you have two vocalist and one good dancer. It wasn't a "popularity" group but more vocal and more "soul" in their music which suits their voice better then everyone else in the group.

well most kpop song promotions go one for 3 months and Shinee when they made their comeback in Korea they were only there like a month and some change and immediately started their Japanese concert. So i don't think promoting in japan will change a possibility of a new subunit.
Plus it will be 3 months of TaetiSeo promoting "Twinkle" so something new has to come up. I am think sense the subunit idea was so well received that they may postping she needed to focus thier korean comeback, for more sub units to come out. Why else would Sunny have quit IY2 claiming she needs to work on SNSD activities yet hyoyeon is still on the show, someone is planning on doing something that Hyoyeon is not part of (theory) plus yuri and yoona re finally done with their drama

I came up with a thought though, what do Soo,hyo and jes have in commone...dance right...would it not be amazing if their concept had a Latin inspired dance feel to it since all three are "fluid" dancers. Jess-debut dance, soo-sway, and hyo-DWTS

Yeah i did of that too and the problem is that if you can't put jessica and yoona in the same group, their popularity will clash most of the time and the third person will almost be ignored. The possibilities of a group are not limited but think of this, why wasnt Jessica added to TaeTi instead of Seohyun. Its not for her voice lacking because she could always have practiced her voice for that kind of level, but is all about money as you said.

Sm has two major groups that the world is most interested in and they can make the most off of: SNSD and Shinee. Since the subunit concept was a hit, i am sure they want next few subunits to be as equally successful so they can't make things predictable like putting only dancers in a subunit or all the best singers in a subunit because the rest of the subunits would never be on par.

I would think SM would just want to sell three albums that re a hit not just two. If you looks at taetiseo there is a order:popular, underrated, underrepresented. Taeyeon is the most popular, tiffany is underrepresented, and seohyun is underrated

What benefit would come making a subunit with two popular member in it because one of these three can happen:
1. Jessica and Yoona get all the attention and the third member is almost ignored
2.The last subunit will have no one to advertise their group, because no one in there is a popular member


Yeah i have nothing better to do with my life but come up with theories but hey its Sunny so I am hoping and excited to see if its going to be next month or not. I have tons of theories of how SNSD will go about the next subunit, their comeback, their Japanese promo, and the one most sones are waiting for their USA debut. But now I am still waiting to see if anything is happening next month.

Considering yoona is in it, it might be cute and innocent but sense yuri is there it might be sexy either way sunny will fit in.

What kind of song will they sing? I mean if they are a group any melodious song would be too much for yuri and yoona so perhaps a sexy sultry song since it thier low tones will fit better and sunny can kinda sing low

Is the dance going to be complicated or simple. Taetiseo has a pretty easy ass dance because they two of the worst dancers in the group. So with Sunyoonyul, is it going to be powerful, no because Sunny can't dance as well ass Yoona and Yuri. Is it going to be easy, hope not your just wasting Yuri and Yoona's talent.

This is why I don't think this will work out because there will not be a balance of the concept, singing, or dancing.

I would think since the image that started this rumor said "The Dark Side of The Moon" that it would be something not so cute. At first I had doubt that this concept would be anything but cute since Yoona (Miss Pretty Face) was in it but I realized she "can" be sexy if we look at their tour. All the performances by Yoona (pole dancing), Yuri, and Sunny did sexy songs and dances for their covers, so there is hope there, that Yoona may take what she did on their tour and bring the sexy back.

Now for JesHyoSoo, if I use the After school unit as a bases, the most reasonable result would be that
1.they do more ballad songs, but then that won't sell well and most ballads don't have good dance
routines, unless you count what BoA did which is hardly bad dancing in her "Only One"

2. As far as a concept goes I think TaeTiSeo already did the "pretty" and glamorous concept so I don't think anyone is doing anything cute. I would think that they stopped doing cute after OH, since everything since then has been really pretty or glamor like, to show a progress in their maturity as artist.

The only problem is that it may be something catchy like a dance genre of songs, something that won't require much singing but more dancing, Jessica is who throws me off because she doesn't try dancing and I don't see anything recent that can make me think different. If Jessica can't dance better then the group will be a singing group, but then Soo and Hyo's talent in dance is wasted. But if Yoona can pull of sexy then I guess Jessica could try harder in her dancing.

^i agree with you. but you know, even if Jessica doesn't try, that doesn't stop Hyo and Soo. they can be at the front or middle most of the time, this way Jessica just needs to shine on the singing, and HyoSoo will shine on the dancing(even though i consider Sooyoung an amazing singer). that's why they should focus on both. but this is scaring me. what if they only focus on the singing? what if it's a ballad sub unit? omg, that would suck.

i think the sub unit with Sun, Yul and Yoon, actually has potential to do something cute. maybe Yuri doesn't fit so well in terms of image, but in terms of voice they sound better in cute songs, instead of powerful ones. Yuri is getting worse, Yoona can't really sing well. and cute songs help to cover those little flaws. if you notice, Yoona BARELY has more than one line in ballads or powerful songs. for example, in "star star star", she doesn't sing at all. SM knows that she's not capable enough. that's why i think their sub unit will be cute. if it turns out to be the complete opposite, then SM is really stupid and Yoona's lines will be full of autotune



one more thing: as i was watching that commercial, i noticed their DRESSES. look carefully. TTS are wearing classy and glamorous dresses, it definitely reminds you of twinkle. SunYoonYul are wearing cute and long dresses with flowers and stuff.
and then you have SooHyoSic, the ones who look completely different, with super short and sexy dresses. they even advertised Sooyoung's legs LOL. i think this is a sign

As far as the pretty concept, I still think TaeTiSeo did that concept plus their song even talked about them being being glamorous. I don't think the "Dark Side of The Moon" sounds anything cute. If you listen to 4 minute cover from Yoona is shows she can at least sound like she can sing, same with Yuri and Sunny, so that sexy concept. Yuri never did well in cute songs, sexy songs like 4 minutes can hide your flaws because it doesn't require a lot of tone

but i understand you want sooyoung to shine in her subunit with a unit that suits her and I want the same for Sunny

A ballad woun't be too terrible, BoA did a good job on hers but most likely they will being doig something dance themed but i don't know yet. I need more clues.

About the dress's that could be just the designer clothes because Jessica and Hyoyeon look like Ballerinas and Sunny is wearing somethig similar to what Taeyeon wore in Twinkle

^ they didn't make anything cute only for the official track. if you listen to all of their albums, there's still a lot of cute songs. in their recent korean album "the boys", you have "my j", "lazy girl" "say yes" and "vitamin". "telepathy" i also kinda cute
