I'd hate them collaborating with the likes of Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and stuff, i'd hate that :(
SNSD are unique and different, I just feel like if they collaborated with a world famous star they would change :( and their sound would change. 2NE1 is an example. Ever since they started working with Will.i.am they've changed, their style, sound and everything. They sound like the black eyed peas now :(

hmm i personally think that they won't do anything serious in the US. The Japanese market is way more profitable and they're big there now. I think they will continue alternating Japan and Korea for at least a few more years.

I personally think that Europe is a better option than the US. You don't need to be super excellent to release songs in Europe. As long as it's catchy, poppy, dance-oriented, you will succeed.

actually if they could sing live like this, that would be great link

tiagih you can see that Sooyoung's singing in English is unbelievably good.

^If you can make it here in the US, its a big deal. Europe is great but the US is one of the hardest levels to reach let alone be mainstream in.

Are asking me my opinion on her English? Let me just be honest, the only people who speak great English are Jessica and Tiffany but I guess they don't count. I put Sunny up higher because she shows she can speak English more impromptu then the others, Sooyoung and Seohyun are a tie because they both have great accents and can speak to the audience with out too strong and accent.

Putting too much effort on promoting in the US is too risky and it's probably not worth it. Look at WG, they've been trying so hard to get popular in the US and they still have zero popularity.

So if they want more money, keep releasing more songs in Japan. I found this on WIkipedia the other day, and I was shocked to see how big the music market in Japan is. link

If they want more popularity, do more catchy songs like Mr Taxi. Promotion in Europe or US is recommended but don't put too much effort in getting their music widely heard in those markets as you would risk your traditional markets (Korea, Japan) at the same time. This is what exactly happened to WG.

^ that is true but Sm has already made the same mistake with BoA that WG made. Snsd won't promote so much here but there is a great prospect already that is what I am saying. In all honesty Kara dominates Japan so I don't think Snsd will too hard to dominate Japan because there is too much competition, they do better in Korea

Kara promotes heavily in Japan but that doesn't mean SNSD is not big there. Kara has released more songs (and mostly original songs not remakes) so of course they sell more singles (but not albums). I would say both groups somewhat have the same popularity in Japan.

Hate it or not but that would be a huge opportunity
But i'm still afraid.... WGs did a collaboration with Akon and still... idk less than expected. But I still love that song ("Like Money")

Plus most of SNSD's money is from Japan anyways. Their Japanese album last year was really profitable. You don't hear much about their activities in Japan 'cause most Kpop news we get focuses on activities in South Korea.

Again, Japan is a check the block because there are fans there not because it sounded like a good idea. SNSD is not really all that successful in Japan because they have to compete with Kara and not to mention the other famous Jpop stars that are there. If they make it in America or better still Europe then its something that SNSD can say they established, Japan is too risky that is the reason they hardly promote, there
