Jessica- she is the oldest and if not her then Sunny, or if not her then Tiffany and so on and so forth. Taeyeon never was assigned leader because she fit the bill, but because she was older.

^ because in South Korea leaders are the oldest, not the ones that may fit the bill. You guys seem to negate the fact that these are Eastern cultures who place a strict hierarchy on certain classes: age, sex, and financial standing.

The reality is that if Taeyeon (one of the least qualifying leaders if you ask me) was no longer the leader it would go to the next oldest because that is how it works in South Korea. So if not Taeyeon it would be Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, or Yuri because they all fall under the same year (1989).

If anyone is qualified it could be Yuri (composed manners) or Seohyun (she talks a lot and composed )

A better question would be "Who would make a better leader" not who would fit because in all honestly Taeyeon never qualified to be the leader, she was just put there because she was the oldest.

- 2NE1's leader is CL. She's 7 years younger than Bom.
- Sunye is Wonder Girls' leader. She was the maknae before Hyelim joined.
- T-ara changes leaders once in a while and it doesn't have to be the oldest. The first leader upon debut, Eunjung is younger than Boram, Qri and Soyeon. The current leader, Soyeon is not the oldest either.

And I quite often don't understand your views. Seohyun is too quiet and Yuri is too informal to lead :D

^in SM the leader is the oldest, sorry I was being too broad. Seohyun is never really quiet she talks a lot esp at concert Talks. Most of their concert talks she is the one of the few that actually say more then a "Hello my name is ...". Yuri has the composed mannerism, doesn't speak unless spoken too and keep a calm face at most time. What do you mean by "informal"?

Yuri giggles and laughs way too much. Sometimes she laughs for no reason. I usually prefer outspoken leaders so I think Sooyoung and Tiffany have the best potentials.
