Yes and here is why (from what I understand about dancing). For one Yuri has good control or coordination of her body. Coordination deals with basically controlling your body during a set of movements. Yuri is good a being fluid because she knows how to isolated certain parts of her body during set movements and rhythms, which is something she has over Sooyoung. Lastly because Yuri has good control over her body, when she does spins or quick movements she knows how to put the right amount of effort into the dance so she doesn't get tired later and drag, which is something she has over Yoona.

not really. I dont even think Hyoyeon is the best dancer. Both their styles are not for my taste. Sooyoung > Yoona > Hyoyeon > Yuri

^Yuri is a second best because she is more fluid and has better control over her body, both Yoona and Sooyoung are "stiff" in comparison and don't have the same control during thier dancing. Hyoyeon is the best because she does well in a variety of dances and has the best control over her movements compared to all the dancers. Sooyoung and Yoona are kinda equal because Yoona is more fluid but lacks the power and good control over her movements, and vise versa for Sooyoung who has better control but lacks the fluidity which comes in with isolating body parts, which is what makes her look stiff while dancing.

Taste is subjective but as far as thier performance Its Hyoyeon>Yuri>Soo/Yoon.

Even determining who is better is also subjective. You can put more weight on fluidity but for me, adaptability is more important. How Yoona and Sooyoung dance suits the overall style of SNSD the most. Yoona and Sooyoung are often put in the middle of the choruses as they can harmonize everyone (look at their two best choreographies: Genie and Mr. Taxi). Hyoyeon's violent style looks completely out of place to me. Yuri is also more powerful and hiphop oriented compared to the elegant, feminine style SNSD embraces.

I don't really care how they dance individually.

In other words, I define the best dancer according to how important they are in the group's choreography. And yes, I believe that Sooyoung and Yoona are more important than Hyoyeon.

^^I don't want to argue but you are placing too much emphasis on what "style" suits someone or who suits a certain image better than looking at thier overall skill, which isn't what the question is asking. Sooyoung and Yoona don't dance any different than Hyoyeon and Yoona, you are looking at thier look in a concept not how they dance in a performance. Sooyoung and Yoona suit any dance they can do well, it doesn't matter what style it is as long as you can do well in it.

There are ways to determine who is the better dancer: coordination, power, stamina (imo), control, connection, variety, creativity, and fluidity (imo). I have never heard the term adaptability in my dance class, so if you can explain that to me? These are some you use to determine a good dancer. Hyoyeon is the best because she excels in all the subskills and has the best control for having the most power in the group. Yuri is second because hers control, coordination, and fluidity is 2nd best. Soo/Yoon despite thier body types seemingly more suited to certain genres means nothing if someone else can dance better than them.

However I will say again style and taste are subjective not dance forms and technique. Your definition of what makes a good or "best" dancer makes no sense, how well someone suits choreography has nothing to do with how well they dance to a series of rhythmic sounds. If the style of SNSD image change to a more sexy/marmalade theme, do Soo/Yoon suck at dancing because having a sexy womanly body isn't thier suited style, no. The style of dance SNSD do is mostly hip hop base anyway, that is why I want to tell your definition of what makes a good dancer is a bit weird. SNSD may look cute/girly but thier dance moves are mostly hip hop based like most kpop, maybe some contemporary additions but mostly hip hop based to go with thier fast rhythmic songs.. Do you see what I mean?

Tiagih, woman you should calm down. Why do you have to try so hard to force vinxinc into your way?

Like vinxinc, I also think Yoona and Sooyoung look way better when they dance in SNSD songs, not like the two fat asses Hyoyeon and Yuri. Those two just look like some low-class hip hop dancers when they dance, while Yoon/Soo and even Jessica carry grace and elegance much better.

^you always seem to have a comment about my conversation/s with someone else, why? I don't force "my way" on anyone unless there is a need. I like vinx, but....their definition of what makes a person the best dancer is flawed and I was trying to point that out to them. Styles or a genre of a dance has nothing to do with how good someone is as a dancer. Since I actually took dance classes recently I was trying to provide a more objective side to this question, not to make someone agree with me but I don't couldn't see the reasoning in his/her logic. Suiting an image or suiting a genre of dance, doesn't have anything to do with someone being a good or bad dancer.

On the subject of you, just because I have a series of discussions with someone that doesn't mean my goal is to coherse them. You called Yuri and Hyoyeon low class hip hop dancers, that is your opinion and I won't argue with you because A. You don't know the technicality because dance forms and techniques, B. Its your opinion even if I may or may not agree with it. Most of the people I "discuss" with are people I actually care about, and they know how I am, if I think they are wrong or they don't make sense I discuss until I get some clarity, I treat no one better or worse. Your statement has some reasoning involved in it, thus I won't even argue unless I just feel like having a discussion. Saying someone is a better dancer because they suit an image or genre more than someone else, that makes no sense, this question is about skills not style, but I digrees. So seriously if you want to argue over something I said then do that, its annoying when I see you comment on a conversation I am having with someone else in an accusing way since I wasn't even talking to you.

^ok, I don't quite know all the technical stuff in dancing. I just judge based on what I see. Sooyoung and Yoona look better to me when they dance. They suit SNSD choreography the best, which is why I think they're the better dancers AS PART OF SNSD. I hope that makes sense to you.

Also, I personally asked Amy to join this conversation.

^No it still makes no sense, thier choreography is still hip hop based with some contemporary additions, but if that is your opinion I won't say much I have said what I have said, so I will leave it at that.....why did you ask her/him to join out conversation?

^^Sorry Amy, just disregard what I said, I didn't know someone invited you.
