I don't know, but how is Dan and Blair "hooking up" unrealistic? Yes they are or should I say were from totally different worlds so to speak, but they realized they share common interests. They just never took the time to really see each other, but once they did magic sparked. I personally ship these two and I really hope they get the chance to blossom.
