The episode was "Mady's Day" in season three. Mady went to get her ears pierced for her special day while the kids went to stay at Aunt Jodis. When Aunt Jodi asked if the kids were allowed to chew gu, they lied and said yes. Joel ended up getting it on his sock and that's when Kate first noticed the gum. Collin also got it on his bear and Kate threatened to throw it out.
