About starting Lacrosse?

I recently found out about lacrosse and it seems like something I would really be interested in but I have two questions about it.

1.So i'm around end of high school/beginning of college age and want to start playing but I think i might not be able to where i'm starting i bit later than most people do. so do you think i will be okay or not?

2. when did you start playing?
