Learning French Question

Help me please.

Okay, so I'm actually learning French, and our teacher just gave us a question which is a little bit hard to me, it's about "Le style direct et indirect" (direct and indirect - in English). Here is the question:

-Sami dit à son ami "Bonjour" <=== This phrase is direct, I need it to be indirect.

Are you sure this is direct speech ? It looks like indirect speech to me.

It should be as follows :

- direct speech = Sami dit : "Bonjour !" à son ami.

- indirect speech = Sami dit bonjour à son ami.

It is the same thing as in English, as the construction is the same. This is not particular to a specific language, all languages have direct and indirect speech.

Good luck !
