What animal was it that i saw???

Today, i was outside with my dog, then he started barking at something. i looked around. saw nothing. but then, i saw this dark orange animal out in the back of my yard. I ran in and told me grandma what i saw. she said it could be a cat.
The animal was bigger than a cat. compleatly dark orange.
I thought it was a fox or a wolf. Mostly a fox. but im not sure

i do have deer around my house sometimes, but it was not a deer. It was smaller than a deer. Like the hight of my dog, that might be the hight of a fox

There are some dogs that have a dark orange colour (or even a dog wearing a coat). Deer also have a bit of an orange colour to them some times. And as already said fox.
