for real. i know kurt cobain was a great artist but the only reason he won this poll is because the only people on this site are people from kurts era. Jim morrison did too much and wrote too much to just be dissmissed by a fuckin bitch or dumbass who has never listen to the doors greatest hits. no matter what some stupid poll says, jim morrison will always triumph the late kurt cobain no matter who you vote for. the tally goes beyond your understanding. morrison was magic. he deserves to be considered in the top 3 greatest song writers in history. listen to the song la woman

first of all both of them are legends,u cant say no to that, i've heard both doors and nirvana songs but i like morrison the lizard king .morrison is one of the best singers of all time and so is kurt.......

Both are great, but Jim is the true legend, the way he sang live at concerts was truely amazing and no one can compare on how insane JIm was, And on how amazing his vocabulary was. Most of the people choose Kurt mainly because they are from his generation, back in the late 60's no other band where like The Doors. They where different and that is true art my friend

This is an interesting poll. Without groups like the doors and Jim Morrison to be exact, many of the grunge rock stars (in my humble opinion) would not have been ans inspired to write their music. Morrison was a rebel and had an awesome voice an stage presence as did Cobain however, you have to consider the age of the viewer here. I asked a group of young men today if they liked the doors and only one of them knew who they were. If you asked an older audience, say 40 and up, you would find that the numbers would be much higher for Morrison. Love em both!
