Are Sonic and Shadow friends?

Well, when Shadow lost his memory, he only felt pure hatred agianst Sonic.

Now, they have a friendly rivalry.

They are just like Goku and Vegeta. They are rivals, but they are also very good friends.

I think there good friends. They have a mutual respect for one another, they somewhat admire one another as well.

Honestly at this point in the sonic universe, I see them as that kind of friendship where they pick on each other and Arguing somthimes. But they respect each other and always have each other's backs.
When shadow lost his memory, he was confused and frustrated in many ways do he was mean to basically everyone.
But now After sonic 06, sonic generations, comics, and forces where they are friends and save each other...
They are clearly friends.

Shadow despised the attributes in Sonic he wished he, himself had. His cocky go lucky attitude was ripped from him before maturity by G.U.N and Doom. However, he's probably gotten over it since Shadow the hedgehog, the game. He views Sonic as a rival and hero. :3
