Turtle Power Documentary Finally Gets Release Date
Turtley Awesome Videos: New TV Spot, Trailer Parody & More!
After years of watching the incredible effort of a few independent filmmakers to create one of the most all-encompassing documentaries the world has ever seen about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I am happy to be able to definitively state that the film will be releasing on August 12th, 2014.
Fans who have been paying attention to the creation of this special documentary will know just how significant this is. Not only does the film contain never before seen footage from the hands of TMNT creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, but they also got the original cast of the '87 animated series together for an interview – one of the last interviews performed by the late, great James Avery (the iconic voice of The Shredder).
Filmmakers Randall Lobb, Isaac Elliott-Fisher and Mark Hussey worked together to make this dream come alive over the past few years, and I can only imagine how ecstatic they must be that it will soon be a reality. Not only is the film going to be released on DVD and VOD services, but it has apparently been picked up by none other than Paramount Pictures, which means that the movie will have just as good of a chance at success as any other big name film released by a major studio. This is absolutely fantastic news, and all I can say is that I am so happy for Randall, Isaac and Mark, because they went to great lengths to make this happen and it looks as though their hard work is finally going to pay off.
With a release date just 4 days after the release of the major motion picture Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from producer Michael Bay, the documentary is sure to reap the rewards of a well timed release. Whether you're planning to see the new blockbuster film drom director Jonathan Liebesman or not, fans will be glad to see that there will be a movie coming out this summer that is sure to please everyone. After all, it's not every day that you get to see a documentary this long in the making that has so much to offer for long time fans of a series.
Below you will find the latest trailer for the film, and although it is pretty good, I would highly suggest checking out the older trailer and Comicakzee presentation as well. Not only are they longer, but they actually offer a lot more information.
So, what do you think? Are you going to buy the DVD or download this movie through VOD services when it comes out? Let us know in the comments below or feel free to sound off in our forums!
Definitely gonna get the DVD. Looks really cool.

Originally conceived by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman, TMNT began as a dark and gritty comic series that was published by Mirage Studios (1984). From here Eastman and Laird’s turtles (originally conceived as a joke), would spawn into a highly successful franchise that would include several popular TV series’, video games, movies, feature films and a large line of merchandise. As of 2014, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been with us for 30 years.
