John's Retort Challenge
The next morning while the Beatles and Laura were having breakfast, George asked, "So, what is that splendid thing that happened the other day?" Ringo replied, "Well, we won a raffle for five tickets to this recently-opened water park called Splash World. It's located in Richmond." George remarked, "Wow! That sounds exciting." John replied, "It is, indeed!" Laura said, "For sure! It's also going to be the perfect place to practice my swimming." "You got that right, my dear!", responded George. John then said, "I've got an idea to help boost your confidence, Laura." She replied, "What is it, uncle John?" He responded, "I'm going to teach you some retorts. They are a strong way to answer those bullies back and silence them. I've mastered this since I was little." "That's very nice! I'm on it!", exclaimed Laura. "Fantastic, love!", remarked John. They started the challenge shortly after breakfast was over. It was really fun for both of them overall as they exchanged one witty retort after another. When they finished, Laura said, "I feel much stronger now in responding to the bullies, John. Thanks!" He smiled and replied, "It was me pleasure, Laura." "That was a great start to your training, darling. I'm so proud of you!", added George. She smiled and gave a thumbs up in response.
