Okay - would you rather die than live in the 'burbs?

I spent a month in Fresno a few years ago. It was horrible. I couldn't walk anywhere. The restaurants were all chains (mmm...Applebees). Traffic was horrible. The car was king and above all? It was incredibly boring.

So, while I'm not sure that I'd kill myself if I lived in the 'burbs. I do think that it would cause my soul to wither to the extent that I'd be incredibly depressed.

I'd also much rather be in a small town with a vibrant urban core, mom-and-pop shops, nice small town architecture -- than be in a suburb (even if it was an hour away from a big city).
