Dear Daddy,
Why did you have to leave mummy and me?
I really miss you.
Can you please come back?
Grace

Dear dad,
Are you ever going to come back?
I remember the times that we would go to the park and fly kites.
I really wish we could do that again.
Please come back.

Dear Dad,
Today was my 16th birthday.
Why didn't you come to the party?
The necklace was nice, but I really wish you could have been there.
Are you ever gonna come back?

Dear Dad,
I have a boyfriend now.
Unlike you, HE truly loves me.
Why don't you love me, dad?
What did I ever do to make...

Not long ago, there was a a happy family living out in the country, in a country town. You know the sort, the places tourists like to visit and where everyone knows everybody else.
In this happy family, there was a father, mother and two daughters. The two daughters names were Rachel and Susan. Susan was the compliant child, doing everything her father wished her to do, and she never complained.
Rachel, on the other hand, was what you might call a 'wild' child. She sometimes did what her dad asked without saying a word. But she often argued it out, before finally caving and doing what he asked....

"No! Please don't go!" pleaded little 5 year old Lucy begged. "Honey, I will be back, I promise," came her father's reply.
You see, her father was going to Iraq to fight in the war.
"Must you?" asked Lucy, tears filling her eyes. "I'm afraid so," answered her father. "Okay," she said, stifling a sob. "But before you go, take this." She handed him a keyring, that was half a heart. She had the other half. When you put them together, they formed one heart. "And when you get back, you can give it back to me."
Her father took it in his shaking hands. "Alright, sweetie," he said. His daughter wrapped...

Susan thought about her idea. It was crazy, but it might just work. She managed to get Rachel to put the dagger in the tree for the night. She pulled out a thick blanket she had packed, and, soon, both of them were sleeping.

The next morning, Susan woke up earlier than Rachel. She carefully got up (without waking Rach), washed her face, and went to a nearby berry bush. On it were thousands of delicious raspberries. As she looked at them, she realized she hadn't eaten for more than 115 hours. Boy, was she hungry. She went back to the 'camp' and pulled out a plate she had packed. (Yes, Susan...

As Susan noticed the dagger hidden in Rachel's clothes, her heart leapt to her throat. She was that depressed, huh? Without interrupting the hug, she carefully started to reach over to the dagger.

Rachel was glad to be back in her sisters arms again. As she felt the dagger shift slightly, she also felt Susan stiffen a little. The next thing she knew, Susan's hand was carefully reaching for the dagger. Oh, nice try Susan. Not gonna let you get it just like that! And she lifted up her hand, and stopped Susan's.

Both of them looked at each other, eyes wide. They both began to speak at once. "Look,...

Susan didn't know exactly where she was running to, but she just kept going. She ran straight out of that town. She ran for miles and miles, until she was in the absolute middle of nowhere. She stopped by a spring of water under a tree, had a drink, sat down and cried.

Meanwhile, Rachel had had to sell all her belongings to get food. After she had absolutely nothing left, she thought of her home at the farm. She thought of her dad, mum, animals, and even Susan. She wanted to go home. She really did. But she was scared of what her dad might do to her. She came to the conclusion that the worst...

Rachel was having the time of her life in the big city. She was living in a wonderful apartment, and had lots of good 'friends'. Well, at least she acted like she was having the time of her life. But, deep down inside, she felt empty.

Back in the country, Susan had double the work, because Rachel was gone. She Never complained, though. She just kept doing life as best she could. She too acted like she was quite happy. But inside, she was longing for Rachel to come back, so they could have those times that they used to have.

Three weeks later, Rachel ran out of cash. She was kicked out of the...
